Joel Van Buren, CFP®

I decided to pursue a career in wealth management as a teenager. I have always viewed the field as a way to combine my professional interests with the chance to work closely with members of my community. With the goal of becoming a financial advisor in mind, I attended Michigan State University and graduated in 2021 with a degree in finance and a minor in international business.

My role at ECM is exactly what I hoped my work would entail when I began to learn about this industry years ago. It allows me to apply my interest and education in finance to helping others. I am proud to be a member of our team.

When I am not working; I enjoy cooking, skiing, visiting new restaurants and bars, and attending concerts and comedy shows with friends. As a lifelong Spartan, I had not spent any time in Ann Arbor before beginning my career at ECM, but I have greatly enjoyed establishing roots in a city with such a unique atmosphere and charm.
