Matt Farris

My role is a Portfolio Manager on the Investment Team at Exchange Capital Management. I conduct investment research and analysis across multiple asset classes in order to formulate the big investment ideas that our trader can distill down and act upon, ensuring each client can meet their investment goals and needs. My no-nonsense attitude drives my deep desire to help the Exchange Capital Management team protect and grow the hard-earned wealth you have spent your lifetime acquiring.

In between countless naps and riding the bench for the Princeton Men’s Division I Ice Hockey team, I studied architecture at Princeton University. After university, I spent 3 years in New York City before arriving home at ECM.

When not in the office, you can find me freezing out in the woods or on the rivers and lakes pretending to be a successful outdoorsman. I live in the Minneapolis area with my wife and our yellow lab whom it appears is engaged in the continuous pursuit to join the dark side—in between demanding belly rubs of course. My other hobbies include cooking and driving my wife nuts by rooting for THE Ohio State University football team.
